Customer brought in a Nissan Elgrand import, were the factory fitted mild steel exhaust system had corroded despite rest of the vehicle was in excellent working order.
The flexi connector had eroded to the point it had holes in and was blowing. The silencer box was on its last legs as well. Instead of just doing just a repair job the customer opted for full stainless steel exhaust system but because this is used as a family car he wants it quite as possible. To achieve this we’ll be fitting a combination of chambered silencers and bullet silencer to reduce the noise.
From the engine there are 2 exhaust outlets that needed to be merged into 1 pipe, so the first stainless steel chambered silencer will also be a 2 in 1 merge collector linked into bullet silencers and finally after a few clever bends the back box stainless steel chambered silencer will also to be a 2 into 1 box but fitted in reverse so we can weld 2 rolled out stainless steel tail pipe.
So there aren’t too many welded joints the T304 stainless steel tubes will be bent on our precision mandrel bender and sections of tubes will be assembled onto the car. Not only this will be a more durable system but will look much better as well.
