What is a cat back exhaust system?

Cat back exhausts generally refer to an exhaust build starting from the closest section from back off the catalytic converter, cat back can also be called a mid and rear exhaust section.

Generally aimed at replacing your exhaust from the tailpipes to approximately near the gear box or towards to the front off the car. The Catalytic Converter is not included in a Cat – Back exhaust.

What causes drone in an exhaust?

Drone is generally a by product of a loud exhaust setup. The sound waves produced by an engines combustion, travel through your exhaust system- If there is nothing to help reduce the flow off the bouncing gas pulse or anything to absorb the vibration off the pulse, the result will create an echo through the tubes to the body off the car and finally into the cabin causing the dreaded drone on certain RPM.
